Will Furtado is a business and litigation attorney with more than eight years’ experience representing clients in state and federal courts. Will is a tenacious courtroom advocate and has obtained significant trial, appellate and settlement victories in matters relating to breach of contract, fraud, conversion and civil theft, construction defect, and corporate oppression. In addition, Will represents clients in regulatory and administrative hearings, including before the Michigan Tax Tribunal, Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, and Michigan Marihuana Regulatory Agency, as well as in arbitrations, mediations and other dispute resolution arenas.
Will is also the managing partner of Furtado Law, PLLC, a boutique law firm providing legal services for individuals and businesses operating in the recreational and adult-use cannabis, CBD and hemp space. Furtado Law, PLLC’s specialized services include entity formation and structuring, state and municipal prequalification and facility licensing, application writing, real estate acquisition, and regulatory compliance and appeals.
Will received his undergraduate degree from Duke University in 2005, and his Juris Doctorate from the Indiana University – Maurer School of Law in 2013, and is presently studying to earn a Certificate of Cannabis Business from Northern Michigan University.
Will is admitted to practice in all Michigan courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan, and the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan and Grand Rapids Bar Association.
